Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Small, 12-room B&B — With only a dozen rooms, availability is limited and the atmosphere is intimate - great if you want personal attention, less ideal if you prefer anonymity.
  • Strict check-in window and early checkout — Check-in is only between 15:00 and 22:00, and checkout is from 09:00 to 10:00, which may be tight for some travel plans.
  • No pets allowed — The hotel doesn't accept pets, so you'll need to make other arrangements for your furry friends.
  • On-site parking, but public — Parking is described as 'public' and provided on site - it's not clear if it's reserved or guaranteed, so it could be first-come, first-served.

“The rooms were spotless and the hotel has an original charm. The staff were helpful and created a family feel. Breakfast was decent, and the location was great for the waterpark and in a nice area. I had a quick lunch at Marmaris next door. Service was excellent overall - a really lovely experience, I'd recommend it.”

“From the first meeting with Geoff and Sue, everything was explained clearly, including the few house rules because we had our Keeshond, Bliss. We were shown to room 7 en suite and how everything worked. Room 9 upstairs was well laid out and very clean, with a TV, DVD, hairdryer, steam iron and tea-making facilities with a good selection of teas, coffee and drinking chocolate. When we mentioned we'd miss breakfast due to an early start, Geoff arranged an early breakfast for us for the whole stay. Even with a full house at breakfast, everything was spot on - cereal, fruit, full English, and individual needs catered for. Great value, excellent location for the South Pier and Pleasure Beach (10 minutes' walk), and there's a small bar, though we didn't have time to use it.”

“Very pleasant stay, friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. Only a 2-minute walk to the promenade. There's a nice wee bar downstairs with a Nintendo Wii to play while you wait. Will be going back next year.”

“Friendly staff, perfectly clean hotel, tidy and cosy room. Lovely room with a fridge, and the bed I shared with my son was very comfortable. Family atmosphere and lots of decent dishes.”
